How to Fix the Instagram “couldn’t refresh feed” Error

As per many users, the complete Instagram app doesn’t work along with the feed, which doesn’t load. And for others, the Instagram app works appropriately, including DMs, stories, and reels except for the Instagram feed. Here we’ve discussed some solutions that you can try in both cases. 

1. Check the Internet Connection

If the complete Instagram app is not loading, then probably there is a problem with your internet connection. You can try opening a website by using your phone’s browser or any app that requires the internet to work. If other apps are also not working, there’s possibly an issue with your internet. In that case, try the following fixes. 

  • Restart your router.
  • Make sure the position of your WiFi router is not far from you. 
  • If you’re using mobile data, check you’ve enough amount of data.
  • Turn off the VPN on your device.
  • Change your DNS server to get a better internet speed.
  • Try switching to WiFi from mobile data and vice versa. 

2. Check Time and Date Settings

Sometimes, the incorrect date and time settings of your device can lead to the Instagram feed not working issue. So, ensure to set the proper time and date. 

Android users,

  • Open Settings
  • Tap on System/Additional settings> Date and time
  • Put the correct details or turn on the toggle button next to Use network-provided time.

iPhone users,

  • Open the phone Settings.

3.  Restart the Phone

10. Check if Instagram Server is down

11. Use VPN

Tap on your profile picture> hamburger menu icon> Settings> Account> Personal information. Now add a new email address. You’ll need to use this email address to log in to your account the next time.

14. Wait with Patience

If you receive any mail from Instagram saying, ‘This action will be unavailable for some time,’ wait patiently till the mentioned time. After that, Instagram will automatically unblock your account.
